Wild Ride on a Frigid Field

It has been a wild and exhilarating ride these past couple weeks at WSI Sports and we want to thank our loyal customers for their patience.

After the Vikings beat the Packers at cold Lambeau field in Green Bay, the Seattle Seahawks, knowing they would be playing in Minnesota, placed a huge order for our warmest cold weather gear. They wanted complete base layers for the entire team, hundreds of HEATR® socks and accessories for the playoff game the next Sunday. It was quite a task with most of the equipment being special order extra-large sizes –3XXX and bigger. The team at WSI dropped everything and went to work.

On Monday morning long sheets of fabric were laid out on the cutting tables and the work began. Our production team, the cutters, sewers and designers worked night and day all week long. Mid-week, when it looked like it was going to be one of the coldest playoff games in history, the Seahawks doubled their order. The Vikings, not to be outdone, ordered more shirts and accessories. Wrapping up production late Friday, WSI provided both teams with everything they needed for Sunday’s game.

As the television production crews came to town, they saw the weather report and visited our facility in Eagan, cleaning out our stock of warm weather gear. Many of the crews were from down south and had never spent a day in our Minnesota winter climate. WSI outfitted the CBS and NFL camera crews, the announcers and even the game referees with HEATR® gear to keep them warm during the 3rd coldest playoff game in NFL history.

But the production team at WSI wasn’t finished. The publicity surrounding the game brought in hundreds orders from all over the country. Retailers were selling out of our warm weather clothing and our stock of HEATR® gear was running low. We have been working overtime at our Eagan, Minnesota production facility, now buzzing all day long with the sound of the fabric cutters. Rolls of HEATR® fabric were reordered and we are quickly replenishing our stock of cold weather gear to supply our customers and retailers.

Customer service has always been our top priority at WSI and we have been shipping our products as soon as they are complete. We appreciate the patience of our many loyal customers and welcome all the new customers that we have met these past few weeks. We know that with a superior product, suburb customer service and our All-American can-do attitude, we can keep our customers warm well into the future.
