WSI Sports Knows how to Beat the Weather
Over 10,000 runners will be wide awake and ready to go well before 8 a.m. on Sunday October 5th, 2013, this is most certainly because the highly anticipated Twin Cities Marathon will be ready to kick off an event that has ran every year since 1963. Back then, it was called the Land of Lakes marathon, and those lakes are predicted to contribute to a somewhat chilly and precipitated morning. The Weather Channel forecasts a low of 41 degrees Fahrenheit and a 30% chance of showers on Sunday morning, a very typical day for Minnesota in the fall. So, runners won’t only be competing with each other or against themselves, they will also have to deal with cool weather and extra precipitation.
There are few things that can help a runner break through such conditions and still perform their best, but WSI Sports may have the answer. With patent wicking technology incorporated into many performance products, WSI has a line of clothing meant rid the body of moisture, whether (no pun intended) it comes from sweat or the environment. This technology eliminates moisture about 30% more effectively than competing apparel. WSI doesn’t stop there, there newest line, titled WikMax® “HEATR®” also excels at maintaining body heat. The heating technology is proven to maintain heat even better than wool. The ability to maintain heat could be helpful to many runners, as this doesn’t just help combat the weather, but also helps get the muscles loose and warmed up faster than normal cold weather apparel. So forget your wool socks, grab a pair of HEATR® socks and experience ideal warmth and dryness.
For the conditions that the Marathon is likely to offer, there isn’t a better clothing option that the HEATR® line. WSI offers headbands, shirts, tights, pants, socks, gloves and many other options to keep your body protected from the elements this weekend. WSI will have a booth at the Twin Cities in Motion health and fitness expo, and they encourage anyone who wants to dominate the conditions while maximizing their performance to stop by and check out their gear at the Expo featuring free seminars and over 100 vendors. The Expo takes place @ the Saint Paul RiverCentre in the lower level and will be ongoing Friday, October 4th from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m to Saturday, October 5th from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m Look for the bright orange WSI Booth # 621
